Basically there are a few types of oils. Full spectrum oils are ones that contain terpenes and other compounds. These type of oils tend to work better on specific conditions. Pure CBD is quite hard to come by if you don’t live in a medical or recreational state. There are other oils that also contain THC. The type of oil you need really depends on your medical condition and what you are looking to achieve

Cannabinol results from the degradation of THC. There is little of it in the fresh plant, but decarboxylation often raises the amount of CBN in the plant as an effect. CBN is only mildly psychoactive and has a higher affinity for the CB2 receptor than the CB1 receptor, linking CBN to the body’s immune system. In hemp oil, CBN is present in levels of 0.2% or lower.
When CBD is referred to as full spectrum or whole plant CBD, it means that the CBD contains all other cannabinoids found in the marijuana plant including CBN (Cannabinol), CBG (Cannabigerol), and THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin), to name a few. And yes, along with these cannabinoids, Full Spectrum CBD also contains trace amounts of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), but in very low concentrations (up to .3%), resulting in very minimal psychoactive stimulation.

THC is the plant compound that makes a person feel ‘high’.  It is naturally found in much higher quantities in marijuana, and in virtually non-existent quantities in hemp. So, when taking a full spectrum cannabinoid extract from hemp, the THC level is so low that you do not feel ‘high’ or groggy.  But, when taking CBD extracted from marijuana, even the “low CBD” strains typically have enough THC to cause someone to feel slightly ‘high’ or at least sleepy or groggy.  And, if its NOT a low CBD strain of marijuana, then watch out, you will most likely experience a pretty significant ‘high’.
