Hi Diane, we wanted to give some feedback on this subject. Our products are made from hemp which is naturally low in THC, however, they do contain federally acceptable levels of THC. Our full spectrum products contain up to 0.3% THC by weight. Our isolate based tinctures have an undetectable level of THC per our testing standards. However, we do not recommend CBD products for those who are worried about drug testing as there are many shared compounds between hemp and marijuana that could cause a false positive.
The label of this CBD oil tincture was not as easy to read as other products. Palmetto Harmony’s hemp is grown in Kentucky. This family operated business began when CBD offered unique benefits to their ailing child, Harmony. In addition tinctures, they offer topicals, capsules, pet products and even transdermal CBD patches. This tincture was selected by our friends at Anavii Market.
The aforementioned entourage effect is the main reason behind the efficacy of whole plant extracts. There are over 100 ‘identified’ compounds in the cannabis plant. While most of these compounds have their own therapeutic benefit, they combine synergistically to provide a far better performance than any single compound, including CBD. Here are a couple of examples of conditions that benefit from the entourage effect:
CBD has been producing a whole lot of buzz in the health community of late – but perhaps not the kind of buzz you might expect from a cannabinoid. Since you’re reading this, you’ve probably heard of CBD and its many touted benefits. From chronic pain to mental health, CBD has the potential to alleviate an astonishing number of ailments. But like many, you might be fuzzy on the details. Consider this your primer on all things CBD.
When seeking out Full Spectrum products, you may come across some called “Broad Spectrum” that claim to have 0% THC. It’s important to verify lab tests on these products to make sure that this is not a false claim and you’re encouraged to still exercise caution with these products if drug testing is a concern. These products have sometimes gone through additional processing to try to isolate and remove as much THC as possible while still maintaining some of the other cannabinoids and terpenes.
There is a lot of confusion out there. Both industrial hemp & marijuana are separate strains of the cannabis plant (hemp is c. sativa and marijuana can be either other strains of c. sativa or c. indica–marijuana has much, much more THC than hemp, which has little-to-none). The site is reviewing only CBD oils made from industrial hemp (more expensive from flower, cheaper & weaker from seeds & stalks) because those are the only kinds of CBD oil one can buy in all 50 states anywhere (not just licensed dispensaries), whether the state allows recreational weed, medical marijuana with an official cannabis ID card, or no marijuana whatsoever for any purpose.
The health benefits of full-spectrum hemp go beyond it being a source of CBD. The array of cannabinoids and other natural constituents found in full-spectrum hemp oil work have been shown in studies to work together in what’s referred to as the “entourage effect.” Together, these compounds work harmoniously to magnify their therapeutic properties. The complex mix of cannabinoids, essential nutrients, protein, and healthy fats work synergistically to encourage homeostasis and balance in our health.
I had bilateral partial knee replacements 3-5 years ago then scar tissue removal in my right knee. I have always had some pain and stiffness in the right knee since my last surgery, probable due to more scar tissue. I am not ready for more surgery yet. I am mostly on my feet for 12 hours at work. About a year ago the pain in my knee got so intense I was only able to sleep for only several hours a night even with an ice bag on my knee. I started shopping for CBD online. Tried several brands before finding Lazarus which is much better than the others at a better price. My pain is 90-95 % gone and I sleep like baby all night. Helps with anxiety. Thank you! Please don’t stop making a great product.
Ordered this for my restless legs and it’s phenomenal, I have dropped the dosage down to about 6-7 drops a day (so about 15mg) and I have noticed a dramatic improvement in my sleep. I ordered my second small bottle and if the results remain constant I’ll be buying the 60ml next month! I have tried so many different things to help with sleep with no success or inconsistent results. I’m also a powerlifter and I’ve noticed a slight improvement in my recovery.
Full spectrum CBD does, however, bring with it the sticky issue of THC. The government regulates concentration levels of THC at 0.3 percent, an amount which results in minimal psychoactivity. But THC metabolites are stored in the fat cells of your body, building up over time. If you ever need to take a drug test, this could create an issue for you.
These drops are worth every penny! I first tried the 3,000 mg. Then bumped it up to 6000mg. I use about 1-1.5ml per day. I was hit head-on by a drunk when I was 19 in 1995. Coma 6 weeks hospital 6 months. This makes my life so much easier to live! Thank you Lazarus naturals for making such an awesome product!! And for making it so affordable! These products are worth their weight in gold!
The first step to finding your correct CBD dosage is getting as much information as you can about the product you’re using. What is the concentration of CBD? Are there third-party lab tests that can confirm that? The CBD industry is still mainly a grassroots therapeutic movement, and as such, largely unregulated. Concentration and purity levels can differ greatly depending on the manufacturing process.
Full Spectrum generally refers to CBD oil products that not only contain CBD,but also contain some terpenes and other cannabinoids such as CBG, CBN and even some THC. Usually these will be in ratios that were naturally occurring and extracted from the plant and specific strain. But they are also occasionally added back into products as an isolated form to raise the potency of the product. For those that get drug tested, Full Spectrum is something to be cautious about. The THC found in full spectrum hemp products is minimal (less than 0.3%), but can still trigger positive drug tests.
Cannabinol results from the degradation of THC. There is little of it in the fresh plant, but decarboxylation often raises the amount of CBN in the plant as an effect. CBN is only mildly psychoactive and has a higher affinity for the CB2 receptor than the CB1 receptor, linking CBN to the body’s immune system. In hemp oil, CBN is present in levels of 0.2% or lower.
Others companies use organic, pharmaceutical-grade ethanol to process CBD. The ethanol, which is essentially grain alcohol, is used to remove unneeded toxins and residues from the base hemp plant. This method of extraction is generally considered to be the extraction process that yields the highest amount of cannabinoids among the different refinement processes as well as being considered the safest method of extracting CBD for human consumption.
So, the next question is typically: DO I NEED ALL THESE OTHER CANNABINOIDS TO HELP MY CANCER (or epilepsy, diabetes, etc)? The answer is “maybe”. Some people find great results from cannabidiol or CBD alone. But, more people typically report better results when taking a full spectrum of cannabinoids (sometimes this includes THC, but often times, not). So, if you’re new to CBD and not sure what direction to go, these reports from people would generally indicate its best to try a full spectrum blend to give you the greatest chance of success. While having an extract that includes specifically the cannabinoid THC could also increase your chance for success, you have to ask yourself if you want to be ‘high’ all day when taking CBD. And, you have to consider whether CBD extracted from marijuana is legal where you are. Because of these two questions, CBD as part of a full spectrum of cannabinoid extracted from hemp, is often times the desired choice.
Thank you, Lazarus Naturals, for your veterans program! My husband and I are both veterans and both take your CBD high potency tincture primarily for joint pain. I had been having severe hip pain that has totally resolved!!! Praise God for making the hemp plant and thank you for making it available to the masses! My husband suffers from knee pain and since being on CBD the pain has reduced significantly. Some people talk about the taste but it really isn’t bad, y’all! I would MUCH rather take a natural product than pop pills that man has made chemically! Thanks again, Lazarus Naturals!
A high quality brand of CBD will always provide third-party lab results to their consumers. Some laboratories finds favorable results, while some products fail these tests. These independent labs exist to ensure that CBD oil is everything it claims to be, with a high level of CBD, low THC, and lacking in impurities that can be harmful to consumers.
CBD is extracted from both plants in just the same way. But, when it’s extracted from hemp, it is often times, extracted by itself. Beyond CBD, there are a host of other plant compounds, called cannabinoids, present in both plants, including THC (more on THC later). We won’t go into all the other compounds in this article as that would take a book to detail, but a short list of the most common ones are: CBDA, CBG, CBGA, CBN, Terpenes and Phytonutrients, and THC. Generally, when CBD is extracted from marijuana, all these compounds are extracted together and the extract is then formulated into various products, thus giving the user this “full spectrum” of cannabinoids. Generally, when CBD is extracted from hemp, it may or may not include this full spectrum of cannabinoids. So, this is the first important distinction between CBD from hemp and CBD from marijuana. When it comes from hemp, it may or may not include all the other cannabinoids. When it comes from marijuana, it almost always does, including the cannabinoid: THC. (Note: ALL Highland Pharms products use a full spectrum of cannabinoid extract.)
Not to be confused with its botanical cousin marijuana, premium hemp oil is extracted from the hemp plant. While hemp and marijuana share many of the same beneficial compounds—cannabinoids, terpenes, and antioxidant flavonoids—there is one important difference. Hemp has only trace amounts of THC, the psychoactive compound found in high amounts in marijuana, so there is no “high” when taking full spectrum hemp oil, just health benefits.
You may have read or heard in the news all the reports of people wanting to take CBD Oil for many ailments, some of which are cancer, epilepsy, chronic pain, TMJ, anxiety and diabetes. And, many people are reporting some pretty fantastic improvements to their conditions after taking these oils. The first thing most people want to know is: IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CANNABIDIOL FROM HEMP AND CANNABIDIOL FROM MARIJUANA? And, the short answer is “no”; molecularly, CBD is CBD. But, there are generally some differences in the CBD Extracts. Let me explain this a bit further.
I have been a smoker for 20 years. I smoked a pack and a half a day. The biggest problem I had with quitting was the anxiety I had from the withdrawals. I took one dose when it came in the mail this morning, and I haven’t even had a craving all day. My anxiety completely went away, and I’ve been in a great mood since I took it. Thank you for making a great product!!!!!!
When CBD is referred to as full spectrum or whole plant CBD, it means that the CBD contains all other cannabinoids found in the marijuana plant including CBN (Cannabinol), CBG (Cannabigerol), and THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin), to name a few. And yes, along with these cannabinoids, Full Spectrum CBD also contains trace amounts of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), but in very low concentrations (up to .3%), resulting in very minimal psychoactive stimulation.
